The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the development, marketing, and sales of Electric Vehicle Services packages via channels with automaker and electricity partners. Responsible for market research and the integration of those learnings into messages, products, offers, pricing, and channels. Influence standards development and manage product roadmap to create and capture new business opportunities. Leverage the resources of automakers and electricity partners to drive cost-effective marketing and sales activities. Cultivate and own the marketing and channels channel relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Define and execute market research to build Texas EV learnings including actionable segmentation, purchase motivators, and purchase barriers.
- Develop channel partnerships with automakers, electricity companies, and charger companies to cross-promote and cross-sell products and services
- Influence standards development in the automotive and utility space to create new business opportunities
- Manage the product roadmap as well as the underlying product development process to capture business opportunities
- Develop offers, marketing messaging, and sales messaging to re-enforce purchase motivators and address purchase barriers within the channel partnerships
- Design, plan, and execute media events around market events to deliver key EV messages to stakeholders in Houston and Texas
- Build and deliver community and business education packages about EV to stakeholders throughout the Houston community
- Design the customer experience in conjunction with the implementation by marketing and business development
- Recruit and guide professional development of team members, ensuring they obtain necessary skills and capabilities to deliver committed outcomes
Reports to: Vice President
Location: Houston, Texas
Bachelors degree from an accredited four year college or university with major in Marketing Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Sciences
- MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred but not required
10+ years experience in consumer-focused sales and marketing
- 5+ years in either automotive or telecom industry
- 5+ years of marketing and sales management and execution
- Track record in building awareness and sales in a new space with small team
- Experience in growing a sales and marketing team around a new opportunity
- Applicable sales and marketing experience at the strategic, management, and tactical levels
- Strategic thinker with strong team execution ability
- Outstanding networking and relationship management skills
- Focused on managing to measurable outcomes on specific timelines
- Strong leadership skills capable of driving change across the organization
- Capable of building, growing, and mentoring a high performance team
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization

- Strong knowledge of automotive and/or electricity markets
- Personal computer proficiency with word processing, presentation software, superior spreadsheet skills and database skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
