We are looking for a highly motivated engineering professional interested in being a key contributor to the future success of the company.
This Electronics Manufacturer is seeking a Product Manager experienced in industrial communications to drive new product development of industrial communications gateways and I/O devices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Become the recognized expert in the category through the definition, sourcing/execution and use of industry, channel, competitive and end user research. Identify unmet end user needs and define, develop and launch enhancements to current products or brand new products to satisfy those needs. Insure that products always have meaningful differentiators in the market.
- Drive the established new product development gate process and act as the program manager for resulting new products, leading all functional groups (engineering, manufacturing, procurement, etc) to on time and on budget launch dates. Help fine-tune the process for maximum effectiveness.
- Develop accurate forecasts and inventory plans for new products
- Interact frequently with customers, sales and support functions to assess new product features and market opportunities
- Develop compelling new product justifications and business cases and proactively champion them throughout the organization
- Provide product and technology training Customers, Sales and Technical Support.
- Develop effective product launch and marketing programs
- Develop competitive pricing strategies
- Lead and maintain competitive market analysis
Requirements
- BS in engineering and related work experience including 3+ years product management experience. MBA and business management experience preferred.
- Industrial communications expertise including Industrial Ethernet and Fieldbuses
- Industrial market contacts
- Involvement with industrial trade associates and committees preferred
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
- Travel 15-25% including some international
