Details: Global Sales Professional - Key Accounts - Capital Equipment
Dynamic and growing capital equipment OEM is in need of an experienced Global Sales professional.
Motivated sales professional with a sense of urgency and a can-do attitude committed to growing the bottom-line, expanding the market share, continually exceeding assigned sales goals and wanting to be recognized as the top sales person. Primary duty is to promote and rapidly close business for Lean consulting and capital equipment tools used in the manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions
- You will create global account strategy, identify opportunities, close the deals and then project manage the solution.
- You will focus on primary accounts and take charge of the entire sales activity for global key accounts. Must have the capability to get to the top people in each account and be a strong "go to" person within each organization to network, build intimate customer relations, prepare and present, and build trust and confidence for total solutions.
- You will Proactively sells on-site machining solutions primarily through inbound and outbound phone calls. Provides outstanding customer focus with the goal of building lasting customer relationships. Conceptual thinker who listens to customers to fully understand the application then recommends and provides appropriate solutions.
- Owns the entire account acquisition process from initial prospecting through service implementation which includes forecasting, call planning, cold calling, managing the sales funnel, pro-active pipeline management and accurate pipeline staging, proposal generation, contract negotiation, credit approval, sales data management, and exceeding monthly revenue objectives.
- Manages multiple projects and sees each to successful conclusion. Sells to a variety of buying influences, generally mid-to-upper level managers, occasionally C-Level buyers. Quickly comprehends product/industry knowledge and technology. Fully understands competitive positioning and market buying behavior in addition to the four products, positioning, promotion, and pricing relative to competitive environment and market conditions.
- Uses sound judgment and business acumen to prepare activity and forecast reports. Develops basic account territory plans that include detailed account insight, competitive knowledge, organizational structure, white knights, top account information, total solution activity and future opportunities and/or threats.
- Strong mentor and role model to others on sales team to ensure their success and career development. Savvy interpersonal skills and excellent communicator willing to challenge the status quo.
- Coordinates and shares knowledge and information with other inside/outside sales associates for the benefit of the customer and the company to grow the business based on increased market share and developing new products. Identifies problems and then assists and participates in problem solving of process/procedures or product improvements by identifying trends, problems, market changes and customer feedback.
- Provides comprehensive timely territory/pipeline activity reports, new prospect lists, sales forecasts and action plans to maintain required sales targets. Develops, implements, and meets regional and corporate sales forecasts and budgets. Manages customer relationships and develops strategic and tactical plans to optimize the sales potential for assigned accounts. Enters and maintains up-to-date customer data and detailed customer information into the customer relationship management software. Assists with compiling credit information and making credit collections.
- Develops and initiates contact between established and potential customers to maximize sales within assigned territory. Applies Sandler Selling techniques to maximize ability to cultivate new accounts and close sales orders.
- Utilizes professional publications, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, leads, websites, and other sources to develop and follow-up with prospective customers. Implements the entire sales process from initial contact through qualification to closing the sale.
- Conducts professional in-house and/or on-site technical presentations and/or product demonstrations as needed to support customer requirements. Assists in trade show exhibitions. Maintains complete technical knowledge of company, products, capabilities and possible solutions. Attends required sales training courses and applies learning. Fully understands, follows and utilizes company policies and procedures, i.e. quotations, return authorizations, pricing/payment terms, credit, leasing and warranty decisions.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays and participate in rotating 24-hour service, on-call rotation if necessary. Remain professional during periods of pressure from deadlines, interruptions and demanding schedules.
- Travel required up to 60% - primarily domestic; some international may be required (limited in the near future). International travel could increase based on increased business requirements. Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;
- 5 -10 years of sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with capital equipment sales required.
- Strong mechanical, machining, engineering aptitude with ability and credibility to work effectively with engineering and other departments as necessary.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals and deadlines.
- Sense of urgency.
- Proven sales ability - primarily in the Oil & Gas Industry focused on Fortune 500 type companies
- Exceptional sales, job development, and organizational skills.
- Self motivated and willing to work independently with limited direction on complex issues. Passionate, creative, innovative "can-do" attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with customers in a firm and persistent manner while remaining professional and courteous at all times.
