We are looking for a smart, technically-savvy, and resourceful Solar Design Engineer to support our internal and external Customers. This position will be an instrumental team member of our Operations dept. Candidates will be highly motivated individuals who can thrive in a dynamic, high growth, start-up environment and industry..

Reports to the VP of Operations.
Location: san Francisco bay area
Job Responsibilities include: Develop preliminary solar layouts to support sales, Develop complete detailed solar designs for construction, Review utility and site information to assess solar capabilities and electrical interconnection, Perform site visits for electrical and suitability for solar design, placement and interconnection, Perform shading analysis, Review partner drawings for code compliance and design review, Perform commissioning of solar projects on completion, Work with suppliers and manufactures to innovate solar design and components
Skills and Experience Required:
Familiarity with electric power distribution systems,
Detailed understanding and working knowledge of NEC
Understanding of utility rebate programs
Excellent customer service skills
Familiarity with solar electric, on-site energy generation, and/or energy efficiency technology and economics
Mastery of CAD, Microsoft Project and Excel,
Experience with a start-up in a new industry preferable.
Motivated team player
Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in engineering electrical, or related technical discipline solar related,
Minimum 2 years experience in solar design or energy field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be passionate about the renewable energy space
Travel required depending on our solar sites. Up to 20%.
